Focus Areas: Botany, plant science, observation, creativity, fine motor skills

1. Print your pages on regular paper or cardstock.
2. Cut out the plant and root-type cards. Laminate for reuse if desired.
3. Display the "ROOTS" banner as a fun header to set the scene.
4. Learn together! Go through the Root Guide and match each plant to its root type.
5. Label & Identify parts of the root using the labeled and blank diagram. (If you laminate it, you are able to use a dry erase marker!)
6. Get creative! Use string or yarn on the "Make Your Own Roots" page to build your own plant roots.
7. Extend the lesson: If you have a root viewer kit or clear container at home, plant seeds and compare what you see to the printables.
